I can't believe I've not posted since November 30th, how slack of me! I shall make it a New Years Resolution to post at least once a month.
So last time I wrote, I was slagging off the snow. Well we got more, and it caused no end of disruption, but it finally seems to have gone away now. Touch wood! I also wrote about my first appointment with the therapist. Bad news here, unfortunately. We decided together that she probably wasn't the best person to be working with me and I'm back on the waiting list until a more suitable therapist comes along (it's looking like March/April time). She did however, suggest a book I might like to read. Overcoming Health Anxiety by Dr David Veale, who is the very same therapist who works a couple of miles from here, who I wanted to get a referral to! He's the guy where emetophobia is concerned and there is a chapter dedicated to emetophobia in the book.
I ordered it and it's just arrived in time for New Year... I might add here that I ordered it AGES ago but the bloody snow has delayed its arrival!
I've dipped in to the emetophobia chapter briefly, just to give myself a little taster and this sentence particularly stuck out "Neither of the authors [Dr Veale and his co-author] have vomited for between twenty and thirty years each and yet we have taken no special precautions to stop ourselves from vomiting". Makes you think doesn't it?
